A charity, trust or not-for-profit organisation in the UK is one whose primary objectives are for public benefit (rather than the financial gain of its owners) and address one or more ‘purposes’ set out by the Charity Commission, including dealing with poverty; advancing education, religion, health or saving lives, citizenship or community, arts culture and heritage, science, the environment, amateur sport, animal welfare, or human rights; helping disadvantaged people in need; and certain work with the armed forces or emergency services.

That’s quite a wide range of potential activities, and the Charity Commission reported that there were over 168,000 registered charities in 2018, of which almost 40% worked with annual income of less that £10,000 (and only 7% had annual income greater than £500,000).

What this means to you

Not-for-profit organisations and charities large and small depend on technology, as the private and public sectors do, and in some senses more so. For example, many charities work with vulnerable or disadvantaged people, provide support for environmental concerns, or maintain and develop important aspects of our heritage. This can involve highly sensitive data, complex information, and large sets of media and images.

If you’re a charity or other non-profit organisation your technology, whether similar or different to this, is likely to be important in meeting your charitable objects.

Why we are good

We provide IT support and technology services to many non-profits, locally and further afield. We cover Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Paignton and Exmouth, as well as the rest of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. We also have clients in places like Hampshire, Kent, London, Northamptonshire and even Scotland.

We work with larger charities as well as smaller or more specialised organisations.

We understand the financial pressures that you need to manage and we’re experienced in maximising the value from IT investments and reducing costs.

What we can do

We strive to build a personal relationship with clients, to help us understand their activities and current position, their pressures and issues, and their requirements and objectives, so that our service can flex to fit, rather than the other way round.

Whether you need IT services like technical support or cloud backup, network and communications services like email or internet connectivity, or cyber security services like endpoint security or email security, we aim to provide a flexible, effective and affordable service.
